We are also the only practice to employ our own full-time radiation oncologist, a nationally known physicist and a staff specifically trained in the delivery of electronic brachytherapy. This innovative procedure uses a micro-miniaturized x-ray tube to precisely target the affected area. This limits the risk of coming in contact with undamaged muscle tissue or other critical organs. The instrument is gently placed on the affected area and in less than five minutes, the treatment is done, with no risk of any radioactivity. This treatment option is painless.
