EARLY ACADEMIC PURSUITS:
Antonio Prinzi, MD, began his academic journey at the University of Palermo, earning his Degree in Medicine and Surgery in July 2020 with the exceptional grade of 110/110 cum laude. His early academic pursuits laid the foundation for his subsequent achievements and contributions in the field of endocrinology and metabolism.
PROFESSIONAL ENDEAVORS:
Following his medical degree, Dr. Prinzi registered with the Order of Doctors of Palermo in August 2020. He then undertook a Post-graduate Fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism Diseases at the University of Catania, a nationally renowned specialist Medical Center (ARNAS) Garibaldi, starting in January 2021 and continuing to the present. Additionally, he gained valuable international experience during his Fellowship and research at Erasmus MC: University Medical Center in Rotterdam from December 2022 to June 2023.
Dr. Prinzi's research focus is evident in his scientific publications. Notably, he contributed to a study on circulating Irisin levels as a marker of osteosarcopenic-obesity in Cushing's disease, published in Diabetes Metab Syndr Obes in May 2020. Another publication in Endocr Pract in November 2023 explores the lymph node ratio as a predictive factor of persistent/recurrent disease in patients with medullary thyroid cancer.
