UMGCCC breast cancer researcher Stuart S. Martin, PhD, discusses how “microtentacles” on the surface of breast cancer cells help cancer spread through the blood to distant parts of the body. His research seeks to find new or existing drugs to target these thin membrane protrusions and prevent often-deadly cancer metastasis. Dr. Martin is the Drs. Angela and Harry Brodie Professor in Translational Cancer Research at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
