Genetic cancer, also known as hereditary cancer, is a type of cancer that is caused by inherited mutations in certain genes. These mutations can be passed down from one generation to the next and increase a person’s risk of developing certain types of cancer. There are several genes that have been identified as being associated with an increased risk of genetic cancer, including BRCA1 and BRCA2, which are commonly associated with breast and ovarian cancer. Other genes associated with genetic cancer include TP53, which is associated with several types of cancer, including breast, colon, and lung cancer, and APC, which is associated with colon cancer.
